Buying a car is the second biggest purchase a person will make in their lifetime. It is a frustrating and complex transaction that can waste time, cause unwarranted stress and cost thousands of dollars more than it needs to. Consumer advocate and prominent auto buying agent, Automall Network, wants to educate consumers of all stripes, whether it is their first car or tenth, on what to do and what not to do. With over 10 years of professional car buying experience for consumers and insurance companies, they have designed a comprehensive 3 hour workshop to teach buyers everything they need to know about buying or leasing a new or used vehicle the best way.

"We have all been conditioned to buy vehicles a certain way - by the auto industry" says Viraf Baliwalla, President of Automall Network. "This course is designed to teach people everything they need to know before they walk into the dealership".

The first of its kind workshop takes place Saturday, September 28th, 9am-12pm and costs $45 plus tax. Interested candidates can register through the Conestoga College Student Portal with course code GINT0292 Car Buying - Saving You Money.

"Most car buyers believe that the process begins and ends with the negotiation" says Baliwalla. "In fact, it is more about the decisions that should be made well before making the deal that will have even greater impact on the total financial picture."

Like buying a house, buying a car should be part of the overall financial plan. "It is not the salesperson's job to educate the buyer, it is their job to sell you a car" adds Baliwalla. "Our workshop has been designed to provide consumers with the knowledge and confidence to make more informed decisions to not only out-deal the dealer, but to benefit their financial well being overall".

Some of the topics covered in the workshop include financing vs. leasing, tips and tricks of the trade, pros and cons of new versus used, importing vehicles, how best to structure the deal and where to find the best deals. Each participant will receive a copy of the "7 Deadly Sins of Car Buying" authored by Baliwalla and a Car Buying course guide.

The workshop at Conestoga kicks off an educational program that will reach all corners of Ontario, Canada and North America. Follow up workshops at Conestoga are planned for November and January and will launch in Toronto for the 2014 winter term. An online version of the workshop is planned to be available to all consumers across North America sometime in the New Year.
